The mission of Play Treasure Coast Sports Tourism, formerly known as the Treasure Coast Sports Commission, focuses on promoting the Treasure Coast region as a premier sports destination. The organization aims to attract sporting events that not only enhance community engagement but also generate economic benefits for Indian River, St. Lucie, and Martin Counties. The team offers event owners and managers access to top-tier sports facilities, special hotel pricing, and grants to support events​.

E. Michael Stutzke High School Scholar Athlete Awards Night

Play Treasure Coast Sports Tourism will highlight student athletes by hosting The High School Scholar Athlete Awards Gala will be held at the McAlpin Fine Arts Center on the Campus of Indian River State College in Fort Pierce on Monday May 5, 2025. The awards will begin at 7:00 PM with the doors opening at 6:30 PM.  

 

The Play Treasure Coast Sports Tourism High School Scholar Athlete Award recognizes both a male and female scholar athlete from all public and private schools in Indian River County, St. Lucie County, Martin County and Okeechobee County. 

 

All nominees must be a scholar athlete, demonstrates leadership skills, exhibits strength of character, sportsmanship and serves as a role model for others on and off the playing field. All nominations remain at the discretion of each high school’s athletic director. 

 

Keynote Speaker:

Darrell “D.K.” Taylor

 

DK Taylor is a respected leader in youth sports and national athlete development. He currently serves as the Director of the National Team Development Program at USA Football, where he leads strategy, operations, and talent identification for elite youth football athletes across the country. In this national role, DK helps shape the future of football by building pipelines for high-potential athletes and coaches through camps, competitions, and development initiatives.

 

A former collegiate football player, DK brings experience from the youth, high school, collegiate, and NFL levels (Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cleveland Browns). He is the founder of BNA Sports, a mission-driven organization providing youth sports programs across Central Florida in flag football, basketball, soccer, and cheer. Known for its high-energy events and player-focused programming, BNA Sports delivers “The Ultimate Youth Sports Experience,” including media days, signing days, and skill development clinics.

 

DK also founded the BNA Sports Foundation, the nonprofit arm of BNA Sports, which extends support to underserved athletes and families through scholarships, community initiatives, and access to safe, structured programming. One of the Foundation’s cornerstone efforts is the Darrell Keith Taylor Student Athlete Scholarship, awarded annually to graduating high school seniors who demonstrate excellence in academics, athletics, leadership, and community service.

 

A 2024 Orlando Business Journal “40 Under 40” honoree, DK has been recognized for his visionary leadership, youth advocacy, and contributions to sports-based community development.

 

Originally from Sebastian, Florida, DK is a proud 2004 graduate of Sebastian River High School, earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida, and holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Florida Half Century Softball

The Florida Half Century Amateur Softball Association (FHCASA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing competitive softball opportunities for players aged 50 and above across Florida. Established over 25 years ago, FHCASA has grown to become the largest league of its kind in the country, featuring divisions for 50+, 60+, 65+, and 70+ age groups.

Treasure Coast Swimming "Go for the Gold" Invitational

May 3-4, 2025

North County Aquatic Center

 

The Treasure Coast Swimming (TCSC) Go For the Gold Invitational is scheduled for May 3–4, 2025.This USA Swimming-sanctioned meet is hosted by Treasure Coast Swimming and will take place in Sebastian, Florida. The competition course has been certified in accordance with USA Swimming standards. Swimmers not accompanied by a USA Swimming member coach must be certified as proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water.

USSSA Sailfish Splash Softball

May 3-4, 2025

Halpatiokee Park, Pineapple Park, Langford Park

 

The annual USSSA Sailfish Splash softball tournament is set to take place on May 3–4, 2025, in Stuart, Florida. This event is a USSSA Fastpitch Qualifier and is open to age divisions ranging from 8U to 18U.​ This event will bring in over 80 teams from around the state. USSSA will utilize six different venues to accommodate the teams.

U.S. Disabled Golf Open Championship

May 4-7, 2025

PGA Golf Club

 

The 2025 U.S. Disabled Golf Open Championship, officially known as the 2025 PING USDGA Championship, will take place from May 4–7, 2025, at the PGA Golf Club’s Ryder Course in Port St. Lucie, Florida. This marks the third consecutive year the event is hosted at this premier venue.

Perfect Game Summer Kickoff

May 16-18, 2025

Lawnwood Baseball Complex

 

The 2025 Perfect Game Summer Kickoff is a prominent youth baseball tournament series taking place across various regions in the United States. In Florida, the event is scheduled for May 16–18, 2025, at the Lawnwood Baseball Complex in Fort Pierce.This event will bring in age groups of 13U and 14U.

Dr. Aspi Memorial Swimming Invitational

May 23-25, 2025

The Dr. Aspi Memorial Swimming Invitational is an annual long-course meters (LCM) swim meet held in Florida, typically in late May. The 2024 edition took place on May 24, 2024, and was hosted by Florida Swimming. The meet featured a comprehensive range of events, including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and individual medley races across various age groups, from 8 & under to 17–18.

The 2025 Nike RBI Regional Tournaments are pivotal events in Major League Baseball's Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program. These tournaments determine which teams advance to the prestigious Nike RBI World Series.​

 

The RBI program conducts several regional tournaments across the United States, serving as qualifiers for the World Series.
